Ronald “Ron” Long is a recently retired County Sheriff whose career spanned almost 40 years in the law enforcement and corporate fraud vocations. He spent a majority of his professional tenure investigating illegal drug, organized crime and financial criminal cases. His employment endeavors took place in both Texas and Missouri, and he currently resides in Texas with his family. Ron is now an author, whose literary works are comprised of numerous magazine and newspaper articles, and books. His publications include five books, which are compiled of crime novels, cop humor and drug education. Educational initiatives are also an important part of Ron’s works, focusing on the topics of drug education and white-collar crime during speaking engagements at schools, universities and corporate organizations.
Ron has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri, along with a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M International University. Ron has worked with State and Federal legislators regarding America’s drug addiction problems and has received numerous appointments to government and corporate boards and committees. He is also a recent recipient of the NAACP’s “Ensurer of Domestic Tranquility” award and the “Metal of Excellence” award from the National Police Hall of Fame. His newest venture is that of a Criminal Justice Adj. Professor, teaching criminology to college students.
